Muslim Man Arrested in Bhopal for Displaying Palestinian Flag

Bhopal: Police in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, have arrested a 40-year-old Muslim man for hoisting the Palestinian flag alongside the Indian national flag on Independence Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Hanif Khan was taken into custody after he displayed the Palestinian flag outside his tailoring shop. The arrest followed complaints from local Hindu extremist groups, including the BJP and RSS, who demanded action against him for his display.

Inspector Narendra Singh Thakur of the Gautam Nagar Police Station confirmed the details of the arrest. Khan, who had adorned his shop with balloons and flowers in colors corresponding with the Indian flag, also raised the Palestinian flag, which led to the police action.
