Muslim Youth Assaulted, Forced to Chant Religious Slogans in Ajmer

Ajmer: In a disturbing incident in Rajasthan, a Muslim youth was assaulted by a group of Hindutva supporters who also forced him to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’, a slogan associated with Hindu nationalism.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the attack was orchestrated by Jeetu Bhati who, along with his accomplices, assaulted Sameer Qureshi in Ajmer. The assailants live-streamed the hour-long ordeal on Instagram, showcasing the severe beating that left Qureshi in critical condition at a local hospital.

The live-streamed video, which gained widespread attention on social media, depicted Qureshi pleading for the attacks to cease as he was kicked and punched. Despite his compliance in chanting the demanded slogans, the violence continued unabated. The attackers also coerced Qureshi to declare “All Hindus are my brothers” while accusing him of being a ‘Pakistani Muslim’.

As of now, no arrests have been reported in connection with the assault, raising concerns about accountability and the safety of minority communities in the area.
