Muslims protest against RSS worker’s derogatory post in Karnataka

Bengaluru, June 02, 2023 (PPI-OT): Muslims staged a massive protest demonstration in Raichur city of the Indian state of Karnataka against a derogatory social media post by a worker of extremist Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

The RSS worker, Raju Thumbak, had put up a WhatsApp status on Thursday depicting the Muslim women as ‘baby-making factory’. The derogatory post led to widespread protests from the Muslim community. After the image on Thumbak’s WhatsApp status went viral, members of the community filed a police complaint and sought his arrest.

The police arrested the RSS worker late on Thursday night. He was produced before the Magistrate and was later sent to judicial custody. The police have filed an FIR under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
