NA Speaker Lauds Outgoing UN Resident Coordinator’s Services

Islamabad: United Nations Resident Coordinator in Pakistan, Mohamed Yahya, paid a farewell call on National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Islamabad today. During the meeting, the Speaker appreciated his services for promoting cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Speaker highlighted the foundation of Pakistan-UN cooperation as being based on mutual trust, partnership, and shared objectives. He emphasized that the United Nations’ support for Pakistan’s development is of immense value and expressed confidence that this cooperation would continue to flourish and strengthen.

The Speaker also underlined the significance of women’s empowerment, noting that the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus and Gender Mainstreaming Committee are actively working to create an enabling environment for women. These initiatives are crucial for strengthening women’s roles and ensuring that their issues receive greater attention.

On his part, Mohamed Yahya expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating that he will always cherish the respect, cooperation, and warmth he received during his tenure in Pakistan.
