Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed for a decisive crackdown on human trafficking networks and hawala-hundi mafia. Chairing a meeting at the Federal Investigation Agency Zonal Office in Lahore today, he stressed that the entire chain of those involved in these illegal activities must be brought to justice.
According to Radio Pakistan, the government is providing every possible facility to FIA officers and personnel and will continue to strengthen the institution’s operational capacity. Naqvi emphasized that FIA officials must intensify operations against organized criminal gangs and deliver tangible results.
He reviewed the progress of the FIA Zonal Office Upgradation Project and directed the concerned authorities to ensure its early completion. During the meeting, the Director of the FIA Zonal Office Lahore briefed the Interior Minister on the project’s progress and the institution’s overall performance.
The meeting was informed that during the past year, the FIA registered 1,670 FIRs, completed 4,000 out of 5,000 inquiries, and arrested 295 proclaimed offenders. Additionally, the meeting decided to replace old cameras installed at immigration counters at airports across the country.
