Islamabad, June 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): Deputy Speaker National Assembly Zahid Akram Durrani and Convener SDGs Parliamentary Task Force Ms. Romina Khursheed Alam warmly welcome SDGs goodwill ambassador famous cricketer Mr. Haris Rauf in Parliament House Islamabad today. Convener SDGs task force Ms. Romina Khursheed Alam briefed about important milestones achieved by SDGs Secretariat. She also said that it is the first parliament in the world which owned SDGs for progress and development of the country. Convener SDGs Task force Ms. Romina Khursheed Alam also briefed the participants regarding SDGs basic goals. She also said that SDGs Secretariat is focusing youth to train them for achieving SDGs goals.

Ms. Shahida Rehmani Secretary WPC was also present and she highlighted the women friendly legislation initiated and supervised by WPC especially for the young generation of the country. Deputy Speaker Zahid Akram Durrani and Convener, National Task Force on SDGs Ms. Romina Khursheed Alam warmly welcome Mr. Haris to the Parliament and pinned their hopes that he would play a pivotal role in furtherance of efforts extended by the Parliament to attain SDGs goals to ensure a safe and secure future for people of Pakistan. Later on, he also witnessed the proceedings of the Budget Session of the National Assembly.

Special Secretary Initiative National Assembly Secretariat Mr. Shamoon Hashmi briefed that it has become the first Green Parliament in the region. He also briefed that the trends of net metering were also initiated by the Pakistan parliament.
