Nexus of Drug Smuggling from Afghanistan into KP Exposed

Peshawar: A big nexus of large-scale drug smuggling from Afghanistan into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Tirah Valley has been exposed.

According to Radio Pakistan, the drug mafia and Khawarij present in Afghanistan are part of illegal activities, and terrorism in the Tirah Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is due to this “political terror crime nexus.” Sources revealed that drugs are cultivated on about twelve thousand acres of land in the Khyber and Tirah areas, with a significant portion of the profits being directed to the Khawarij. This group reportedly uses the drug money to secure this illegal business and promote terrorism.

Local sources indicated that those who cultivate drugs benefit from political backing, and operations in the Tirah Valley face opposition due to the political-terror nexus and the Khawarij. They stated that one hundred ninety-eight people were martyred and injured in the Khyber district during the current year, attributing the responsibility of these martyrdoms solely to the political, criminal, and terrorist nexus.
