Karachi: Nishat Mills, under its power project, would be producing 12MW through steam turbines which would generate power with steam by using agricultural and municipal waste like rice husk, cotton sticks etc as fuel.
According to Alfalah Securities Limited, this power project costing USD 20 mn, would start partial operations from February 15, 2012 and is expected to be fully operational by April 15, 2012. It would meet the energy requirement of the mill at a cheaper cost than furnace oil and do away the problem of gas curtailment, thereby making the production from Nishat Mills Limited more competitive in the local and export market while reaping better margins on its products.
