OGDCL Completes Khewari Development Project, Boosts Gas Supply Capabilities

Karachi, The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has successfully finalized the Khewari (Suleman 1 & 2) Development Project, employing a fast-track strategy to enhance its gas production capabilities. The project, located in the Sanghar district of Sindh province, is set to contribute significantly to the region’s gas supply.

According to the Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), the Khewari Development Project has the potential to produce 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, which is currently being processed at the Sinjhoro Plant. The project’s completion involved the installation of a 6-inch diameter pipeline spanning 14.5 kilometers from the Gathering Facility near Suleman-1 to the Chabaro Tie-in point, a crucial step that enabled early gas injection into the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) system. The wells are now undergoing a choke optimization process to further enhance the gas supply.

The Khewari Development Project represents a joint venture, with OGDCL as the operator holding a 77.50% stake and the Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) owning the remaining 22.50%. This achievement is part of OGDCL’s ongoing efforts to improve efficiency, optimize production, and contribute to meeting the nation’s energy demand through indigenous resources. OGDCL’s commitment to ensuring a sustainable and reliable energy future underscores its role as a key player in the nation’s energy sector.
