Ombudsman Sindh Asad Ashraf Malik elected Director Asian Region of International Ombudsman Institution Vienna

Karachi, August 18, 2015 (PPI-OT):The Ombudsman Sindh Asad Ashraf Malik has been elected unopposed as Director International Ombudsman Institute for Asian Region. The election for the Director of the Asian Region of I.O.I. was held recently in Vienna Austria at I.O.I. Secretariat.

The I.O.I. Secretary General Gunther Krauter in his congratulatory message to Asad Ashraf Malik, on behalf of the entire Board welcomed his election to the position and expressed their keenness to work closely with him for the promotion of I.O.I. objectives.

Mr. Asad has expressed his resolve to serve I.O.I. in his new capacity to the best of his abilities and thanked all members for reposing confidence in him. He was elected to the position of Director in recognition of his contribution earlier in his capacity as Vice President Asia. It may be recalled that Asad Ashraf Malik, Ombudsman Sindh was earlier elected Region Vice President of I.O.I. in the year 2011 for 2 years.

This position was later occupied in 2013 by Federal Ombudsman Mr. Salman Farooqui and re-designated as President (Asia Region). In his capacity as regional Vice President Mr. Asad presented Pakistan and regional view points on all important issues that came up for discussion at I.O.I. forum.
