Opposition Criticizes Modi Govt Over Handling of Violence in Odisha’s Cuttack

New delhi: The opposition leaders in India have criticized the New Delhi government’s handling of the situation arising out following the violent clashes erupted in Indian city of Cuttack in Odisha state during a Durga Puja procession.

According to Radio Pakistan, authorities have imposed a thirty-six-hour curfew and a twenty-four hour internet shutdown in thirteen of the twenty police stations in the city.

Shivsena member of the Lok Sabha Priyanka Chaturvedi termed it as a tragic incident. She said BJP government always fans sectarianism whenever it assumed the power.

Congress member Pramod Kumar Tiwari said all is being done to fan sectarianism intentionally by the BJP.

The sectarianism in Indian state of Odisha is a fresh example of the growing Hindutva extremism and state terrorism in India.
