New Delhi: Asaduddin Owaisi, President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), has accused the BJP government of prioritizing the construction of police stations over schools, colleges, and hospitals in Muslim-majority areas across India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Owaisi, in a statement on X, highlighted the construction of a police station on Wakf land directly opposite the Shahi Jamia Masjid in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. He shared documents related to the land, raising objections to the ongoing construction work.
Owaisi reported that local authorities have expedited the construction, employing 20 masons and 25 workers to erect 10-foot-high walls within a few days. The land in question is identified as Wakf No. 139, Moradabad, in official records.
He argued that the construction violates archaeological regulations, as the Shahi Jamia Masjid is a protected monument. Owaisi criticized the actions of the local administration and held Yogi Adityanath and Narendra Modi accountable, describing their approach as sectarian.
Amid these developments, demolition activities continued in Sambhal, with six houses being dismantled on the grounds of illegal encroachments.
