Pakistan Actively Engaged in Reducing US-Iran Tensions: Asim Iftikhar

New york: Pakistan has announced its proactive involvement in facilitating dialogue and mediation to ease the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran. This statement was delivered by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, during a Security Council debate focused on advancing political solutions in the Middle East.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Ahmad emphasized the necessity for a comprehensive and peaceful resolution of the ongoing issues to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region. His remarks highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to playing a key role in diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing hostilities and fostering dialogue between the conflicting parties.

In the same debate, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed gratitude towards Pakistan for its active mediation role in the Iran-US conflict. He also emphasized the importance of all parties respecting the ceasefire, underscoring the critical need for continued efforts to maintain peace and stability in the volatile region.
