Pakistan and Belarus Strengthen Legal Ties with Strategic Meeting

Islamabad: Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to enhance their legal cooperation following a meeting between Belarusian Minister of Justice Kovalenko Evgeny and Pakistan’s Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar. The discussions, held in Islamabad, centered on advancing bilateral relations through various legal frameworks.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting covered a range of topics, including the digitalization of the legal system, capacity building for legal professionals, and international cooperation. The leaders explored future collaborations in areas such as legal education, Bar council exchanges, and the development of an International Mediation and Arbitration Center.

Significant outcomes of the meeting included an invitation for the Pakistani Minister and his team to visit Belarus, which was warmly accepted, signaling mutual interest in strengthening ties. The Pakistani Minister also provided an overview of existing treaties and MOUs, which will serve as a foundation for future engagements.

Both ministers expressed a commitment to collaboration in legal education and discussed potential partnerships in case management systems. The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields and memos as a token of their commitment to deepening bilateral relations.
