Pakistan and China Conclude 9th Round of Bilateral Consultations on Arms Control in Islamabad

Islamabad: Pakistan and China concluded the 9th Round of Bilateral Consultations on Arms Control and Non-proliferation, marking another chapter in the two nations’ ongoing dialogue on security and technological cooperation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions covered a wide range of topics, including global and regional security challenges, new and emerging technologies, cyber-security, artificial intelligence, outer space, and the peaceful applications of nuclear technology. These talks underscore the comprehensive nature of the strategic dialogue between the two countries.

The meeting also featured a significant interaction between Sun Xiaobo, Director General of the Department of Arms Control at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, and Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch. Both parties reiterated the value of continued bilateral talks under the umbrella of the Pakistan-China Strategic Dialogue and expressed satisfaction with the progression of their cooperative relationship.

The consultations are scheduled to proceed with the 10th round to be held in Beijing next year, as both nations look to further solidify their partnership in these critical areas.
