Pakistan and Maldives Commit to Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Male: Pakistan and Maldives have expressed a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest. This commitment was conveyed during a meeting between National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Maldivian Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef in Male.

According to Radio Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the longstanding, close, and cordial relations between Pakistan and the Maldives, which are based on shared religion and strong people-to-people linkages. He reiterated the importance of these ties and the mutual benefits they bring to both nations.

Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability. He also highlighted the significant potential for expanding cooperation in key areas such as tourism and higher education, which could benefit both countries economically and socially.

Both leaders called for enhanced cooperation to address climate change challenges. They agreed on the importance of strengthening climate resilience through joint initiatives, aiming to protect their nations and the region from the adverse effects of climate change.
