ISLAMABAD: A high-level Pakistani delegation, led by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, has engaged in discussions with representatives from Gazprom, Russia’s leading oil and gas company. The meeting, which took place on June 21, 2025, was also attended by Ahmed Hayat Lak, Managing Director and CEO of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL). The main focus was on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, specifically targeting joint ventures and business development between OGDCL and Gazprom International.
Both parties reiterated their dedication to strengthening energy collaboration, aiming to leverage Pakistan’s increasing energy demands along with Gazprom’s extensive expertise in oil and gas exploration, production, and infrastructure development. The talks underscored potential areas for partnership.
It was agreed that OGDCL and Gazprom International would continue their discussions to identify viable projects and partnerships. This effort aims to ensure sustainable energy development and economic growth for both nations.
