Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Commit to Strengthen Economic Partnership

Islamabad: In a significant step towards bolstering bilateral relations, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to deepen their economic ties, aiming to transform their connection into a long-term strategic and economic partnership. This commitment was highlighted during discussions between President Asif Ali Zardari and a visiting delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Saudi Minister for Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari emphasized the historic and robust relationship between the two countries, reaffirming Pakistan’s allegiance and respect for King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He also lauded the visionary policies of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, particularly praising the advancements under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and expressing gratitude for the Kingdom’s ongoing support during Pakistan’s challenging times.

Minister Al-Falih acknowledged Pakistan’s strategic importance and its rich natural and renewable energy resources, announcing plans for Saudi investment in Pakistan’s infrastructure and mining sectors. He disclosed that twenty-five agreements aimed at enhancing economic cooperation would be signed, marking a promising new phase in the partnership between the two nations.

Both parties also agreed to boost collaboration in agriculture and information technology, further expanding their ties to include crucial sectors for future development.
