Pakistan and Sri Lanka Strengthen Military Ties with Joint Counter-Terrorism Exercise

Tarbela: Pakistan-Sri Lanka Joint Exercise Shake Hands-II in the counter terrorism domain concluded at Tarbela today. The two-week-long exercise between the armed forces of Pakistan and Sri Lanka commenced on 27th of last month. Combat teams from the Special Services Group of Pakistan Army and Sri Lankan Special Forces participated in the exercise.

According to Radio Pakistan, the closing ceremony was attended by the General Officer Commanding Special Services Group as the Chief Guest, with Major General Ajith Abeyawardana of Sri Lanka also in attendance. The troops displayed the highest standards of professional excellence during the conduct of the exercise.

The exercise aimed at refining drills, procedures, and techniques involved in counter terrorism operations through joint training, while further strengthening historic military-to-military relations between the two friendly countries.
