Pakistan Army Concludes 84th Formation Commanders Conference with Focus on Security and Stability

Islamabad: General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, led the 84th Formation Commanders Conference at the General Headquarters, focusing on national security, operational readiness, and counterterrorism efforts. The conference, attended by senior military leaders, addressed internal and external security challenges and reaffirmed support for the Kashmiri and Palestinian people.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the conference began with tributes to the martyrs of the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, and citizens who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan’s security. The participants condemned human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and expressed solidarity with Palestinians, condemning military actions in Gaza.

The conference reviewed the security environment and the Army’s readiness to counter evolving threats. A comprehensive analysis of counterterrorism operations was conducted, emphasizing the need to neutralize terrorists and focus on operations in Balochistan. Concerns were raised about propaganda following the Army’s deployment in Islamabad, seen as an attempt to create division between the public and the Armed Forces.

The forum called for stringent laws to curb the spread of misinformation and stressed the Army’s commitment to national service without political bias. Concerns were also expressed about the use of Afghan soil by terrorists, urging for cooperative measures between the neighboring countries.

The conference reiterated support for socioeconomic development in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and resolved to assist government efforts in economic growth and combating crime. Concluding the event, General Munir highlighted the Army’s dedication to professionalism and security, emphasizing its role in maintaining Pakistan’s stability amidst challenges.
