Pakistan Calls for Global Action Against Islamophobia, Hate Speech

Pakistan: Pakistan has called for stronger global action against Islamophobia and hate speech. The call was made by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, at the high-level event marking the Fifth International Day for Countering Hate Speech.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ambassador described Islamophobia as one of the most virulent manifestations of hate speech worldwide. He noted that attacks against Muslims, their identities, religious symbols, and places of worship, as well as restrictions on religious freedoms, continue to fuel intolerance and exclusion in many societies.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to combating hatred and discrimination in all its forms, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad stated that Pakistan would continue to work closely with the United Nations to advance collective efforts against hate speech, describing the endeavor as a moral responsibility to safeguard future generations, shared values, and human civilization.
