Pakistan Calls for Strengthening UN-African Union Partnership

Islamabad: Pakistan has called for strengthening the UN-African Union partnership. Speaking at the Security Council briefing on cooperation between the United Nations and regional and sub-regional organizations with reference to the African Union, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad commended the African Union’s leadership in conflict prevention and Peacebuilding.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Ahmad emphasized the importance of bolstering the collaborative efforts between the United Nations and the African Union. He highlighted the crucial role the African Union plays in addressing conflicts and maintaining peace across the continent, suggesting that a stronger partnership could lead to more effective conflict resolution and sustainable peace initiatives.
