Pakistan, Canada Sign Protocol on Import of Canola

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand have signed the Protocol on the Phytosanitary Import Requirements for Genetically Modified Canola Intended for Food, Feed and Processing from Canada to Pakistan. The signing ceremony, held in Islamabad today, was witnessed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Protocol establishes the phytosanitary import requirements for Canadian genetically modified canola intended for food, feed, and processing. The agreement reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Canada to strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture and trade.
