Pakistan, China Sign MoU for Genetic Improvement of Cotton

Islamabad: Pakistan and China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation to increase Pakistan’s cotton production through modern technology. The agreement aims to enhance the production of cotton, a crucial crop for Pakistan’s economy, by leveraging advancements in agricultural science.

According to Radio Pakistan, the MoU has been signed between Ayub Agricultural Research Institute of Pakistan and the Institute of Cotton Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The partnership will focus on the genetic improvement of cotton to boost its yield and support the global promotion of Pakistan’s cotton industry.

Under the agreement, both the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute and the Institute of Cotton Research will collaborate on various initiatives designed to improve the quality and quantity of cotton produced in Pakistan. This cooperation is expected to have a significant impact on the country’s agriculture sector by introducing modern technological practices and innovations in cotton cultivation.
