Pakistan Commends Syria’s Efforts in Addressing Chemical Weapons Concerns

Islamabad: Pakistan has welcomed the Syrian government’s commitment to addressing chemical weapons-related activities on its territory.

According to Radio Pakistan, the remarks were made by Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Usman Jadoon, during the United Nations Security Council Briefing on the Middle East. Jadoon highlighted the progress achieved under the new Syrian government, noting that it deserves recognition and encouragement.

He emphasized that the international community should support Syria’s efforts by providing necessary technical assistance, expertise, and capacity-building support to help resolve outstanding issues. Furthermore, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Syria.
