Pakistan Day Celebrated with Pledge for Country’s Progress

Islamabad: Pakistan Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and national unity across the country today. The nation renewed its resolve to demonstrate more hard work, unity, and sacrifice for the development, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the day is celebrated to commemorate the historic Lahore Resolution passed on 23rd March in 1940, which set the agenda for a separate homeland for Muslims of the Sub-Continent. The day dawned with a thirty-one-gun salute in the federal capital and a twenty-one-gun salute in provincial capitals.

After Fajar prayer, special prayers were offered for the security, development, and prosperity of the country, as well as national unity and the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.
