Washington: A flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., to commemorate Pakistan Day. Ambassador of Pakistan, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem in the background, with the participation of all officers and staff of the Embassy.
According to Radio Pakistan, on this occasion, special messages from the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar were read out.
