PAKISTAN “DEEPLY CONCERNED” ABOUT YEMEN REBELS’ MISSILE ATTACK

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Pakistan, on Wednesday, showed serious concern, about the recent missile attack by Yemen’s Houthi rebels, targeting the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, in Asir province.

Saudi Arabia’s air force had downed the ballistic missile, on Feb 5, according to Saudi officials.

“We are deeply concerned over media reports, of a missile attack by Houthi militia, towards Khamis Mushait, on Feb 5. The timely interception by Saudi Air Defence saved the civilian populated city from grave consequences,” the Pakistani foreign ministry said, in a statement.

“Such attacks, targeting the unarmed civilian population, are a violation of international law and condemnable,” the statement said.

It further said, Pakistan denounces the repeated missile attacks on Saudi territory, by the Houthi militia, adding, these attacks pose a threat to the security of the Kingdom and the Holy Places.

“Pakistan reiterates its solidarity with the Government and people of Saudi Arabia, and renews its commitment to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as, to protect its Holy Places,” the foreign ministry said.
