Pakistan Delegation Discusses Economic Reforms with IMF in Washington DC

Washington DC: A high-level delegation from Pakistan met with Mr. Jihad Azour, Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), to discuss ongoing economic reforms and the progress under the recently approved $7 billion Extended Fund Facility. The meeting focused on Pakistan’s strategies for fiscal consolidation, revenue expansion, and reforms in the energy sector and state-owned enterprises.

According to Press Information Department, the Pakistani delegation expressed gratitude for the IMF’s continued support, especially highlighting the importance of the financial assistance in fostering economic stabilization and growth. Mr. Jihad Azour congratulated Pakistan on the effective initiation of the program and underscored the critical need for the country to maintain momentum on its reform agenda to ensure sustainable economic development.
