Pakistan: Deputy Prime Minister Commits to Advancing CPEC with China

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan is committed to advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to enhance cooperation with China in fields such as agriculture, industrialization, and renewable energy. His remarks were made during his address at the International Conference titled “China at 75: A Journey of Progress, Transformation and Global Leadership.”

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar described the CPEC as a significant gift from China to Pakistan, emphasizing its role in uplifting the country’s energy infrastructure and addressing load-shedding issues. He highlighted the enduring friendship between China and Pakistan, noting that the countries support each other through natural disasters, economic challenges, and geopolitical changes.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for China’s support on issues such as Kashmir and Palestine and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the One-China policy. He acknowledged the dedication of Chinese leadership and people, predicting China’s rise to become the world’s leading economy.

Dar also praised China’s contributions to global political and economic stability and its role in promoting multilateral diplomacy. Addressing the issue of ongoing violence in Gaza, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s vocal support for the Palestinian people and called for adherence to United Nations Security Council resolutions and International Court of Justice rulings.
