Pakistan Embassy Promotes National Mango Varieties at Tasting Event in Ankara

Ankara: The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara organized a mango-tasting event in collaboration with CarrefourSA, showcasing the distinctive Chaunsa mango variety, which is renowned in Pakistan. The event, held on August 23, 2024, aimed to introduce the unique flavors and qualities of Pakistani mangoes to the Turkish market.

According to Press Information Department, the embassy staff engaged with attendees, sharing insights about the mangoes’ flavors and their cultural significance in Pakistan. The positive reception from the participants has encouraged the embassy to plan further events to promote Pakistani mangoes, which are among the top varieties globally. Pakistan ranks as the fifth largest producer and seventh largest exporter of mangoes, with more than 200 varieties like Sindhri, Anwar Ratol, and Langra available.

Mangoes, referred to as the ‘King of Fruits’ in Pakistan, are not only celebrated for their taste but also for their health benefits. They provide essential nutrients such as vitamins C, A, E, and K, and minerals like potassium and folate. These components contribute to health benefits like improved digestion, reduced inflammation, and overall well-being.
