Pakistan Eyes Huge Economic Activity from Hides of Animals Sacrificed on Eid-ul-Azha

Pakistan: Pakistan is expecting huge economic activity from the hides of animals sacrificed during Eid-ul-Azha.

According to Radio Pakistan, economic activity worth 8.7 billion rupees is expected from the hides of about 7.5 million sacrificial animals this year. The report highlighted that the number of sacrificial animals in Pakistan has increased by seventeen percent over the last decade.

Over the past nine years, the leather industry in Pakistan has shifted its focus from the supply of raw hides to the production of profitable finished goods. As a result, exports of leather products and footwear from the country have reached 694.20 million dollars.
