At the un: Pakistan has urged early diplomacy and stronger UN mediation architecture for lasting peace.

Islamabad: The call was made by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, during the UN General Debate on Strengthening the Role of Mediation in the Peaceful Settlement of Disputes and Conflict Prevention and Resolution.

According to Radio Pakistan, the ambassador emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to restraint, de-escalation, and a return to diplomacy amidst the recent Middle East crisis.

He noted that as a friendly neighbor of Iran, a brotherly partner of the Gulf countries, and a nation with longstanding ties of amity with the United States, Pakistan is actively engaged in efforts to facilitate a sustainable solution for regional and global peace and stability.
