Pakistan Focuses on Strengthening Ties with Canada

Islamabad: Pakistan is eager to enhance its bilateral relations with Canada, focusing on cooperation across various sectors, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced during a meeting with Canadian officials. The discussions also covered the resettlement of Afghan refugees in Canada.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Naqvi met with Taleeb Noormahmed, a Member of the Canadian Parliament, and Mahmoud Eboo, a representative of the Aga Khan Development Network in Canada. The meeting took place in Islamabad, where the parties discussed the current state of Pakistan-Canada relations and explored avenues for future collaboration.

Naqvi highlighted the significant role of the Aga Khan Foundation in implementing socio-economic development projects in Pakistan. He expressed a desire to expand these efforts through enhanced cooperation between the two countries.

In response, the Canadian Parliament Member noted that the Canadian High Commission has increased its staff and resources to expedite the resettlement process for Afghan refugees, indicating Canada’s commitment to addressing this humanitarian issue efficiently.
