Traffic Halted on Gurez-Bandipora Road Amid Snowfall

Srinagar: Several regions of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir experienced snowfall on Thursday morning, leading to the suspension of traffic on the Gurez-Bandipora road. Authorities have closed the road to ensure traveler safety amid increasing snowfall.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, an official reported that snowfall began early in the morning in Gurez and surrounding areas. As the intensity of the snowfall increased, the decision was made to suspend traffic on the road until further notice. Snow clearance operations are planned to commence once weather conditions improve.

The snowfall is not limited to the Gurez-Bandipora area. Other higher regions of Kashmir, such as Achabal in Islamabad district, are also receiving light to moderate snowfall. Residents in these areas have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel.

The meteorological department has predicted continued snowfall in the higher regions of Kashmir, with potential rainfall in some lower areas over the next 24 hours.
