Pakistan Invites U.S. Investment in Mining and IT Sectors

Washington: In a bid to boost foreign investment, Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has extended an invitation to American investors to explore opportunities in the country’s mining and information technology sectors. During his visit to the United States Chamber of Commerce, Naqvi engaged in discussions with the US-Pakistan Business Council, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing the concerns of American companies operating in Pakistan.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, Naqvi assured the business delegation, which included prominent figures such as Charles Freeman and Esperanza Jelalian, that Pakistan is on a path to economic stability. He noted improvements in economic indicators and emphasized streamlined processes for obtaining necessary permits (NOCs) for businesses. Naqvi also pledged special facilities to facilitate investment, aiming to make Pakistan an attractive destination for U.S. businesses.

The visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with the United States and leveraging the potential of its mining and IT sectors. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S., Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, and other officials accompanied the Interior Minister, highlighting the significance of this diplomatic engagement.
