Pakistan Naval Academy Cadets Triumph at International Sailing Championship in Sri Lanka

Karachi: Cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy clinched top honors at the Commandant Cup Sailing Regatta, held at the Naval and Maritime Academy in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, showcasing their sailing prowess against international competitors.

According to Pakistan Navy, teams from the navies of Sri Lanka, Pakistan, China, and India participated in this prestigious event, which featured races in the Laser Radial and Enterprise classes of boats. The Pakistan Naval Academy team, consisting of Officer Cadets Syed Sakhir Ali Shah, Saad Bin Khalid, and Muhammad Abdullah Akram, secured a Silver medal in the Laser Radial category and a Gold medal in the Enterprise category.

The closing ceremony saw Sri Lankan Naval Chief Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera awarding medals and the trophy to the winning team. The event emphasized the importance of providing a competitive environment for young cadets to enhance their sailing skills and gain exposure to international competitions, reinforcing the academy’s commitment to comprehensive curricular and co-curricular training for future naval leaders.
