Pakistan Navy Enhances Maritime Capabilities with Arrival of PNS HUNAIN in Karachi

Karachi: The Pakistan Navy welcomed the third Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), PNS HUNAIN, to its fleet on Thursday at an impressive reception ceremony held at the PN Dockyard. The event was graced by Commander Pakistan Fleet Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, who served as the chief guest.

According to Pakistan Navy, the addition of PNS HUNAIN is set to significantly boost the naval force’s ability to protect Pakistan’s maritime frontiers. Vice Admiral Abbasi emphasized the vessel’s role in enhancing the Pakistan Navy’s operations in the Indian Ocean, particularly in maritime security patrols.

PNS HUNAIN, commissioned in July at Damen Shipyard in Romania, is equipped with advanced electronic warfare systems and a range of anti-ship and anti-air warfare weapons, enhancing its role as a multipurpose medium-sized OPV. The ceremony saw participation from a large number of Pakistan Navy officers, CPOs, sailors, and family members of the crew, celebrating this strategic enhancement to the nation’s maritime defense capabilities.
