Islamabad: Pakistan Navy Ship Zulfiqar visited the port of Djibouti as part of its deployment on a Regional Maritime Security Patrol. Upon its arrival, the ship was welcomed by officials from the Djibouti Navy.
According to Pakistan Navy, the visit included a meeting between the Commanding Officer of PNS Zulfiqar and senior military leaders from Djibouti, aimed at exploring further avenues for collaboration. The navy-to-navy engagements have been pivotal in strengthening the diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Djibouti. During the port call, the crew of PNS Zulfiqar engaged in professional interactions with the Djibouti Navy and Coast Guards.
Pakistan and Djibouti maintain a close relationship founded on mutual respect and shared interests, particularly in the maritime sector. The visit of ambassadors, defence attaches, senior government and military officials of Djibouti, along with prominent members of the local and Pakistani community, highlighted the significance of these ties as they toured the ship.
Before departing, PNS Zulfiqar conducted a Passage Exercise with the Djibouti Coast Guards to bolster interoperability between the two forces.
