Pakistan Navy Ship’s Maiden Visit to Jeddah Strengthens Ties with Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH: The newly commissioned Pakistan Navy Ship, PNS YAMAMA, recently made a stop in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as part of its inaugural journey from Romania to Pakistan. During its stay, the vessel participated in a Passage Exercise with the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, marking a significant step in enhancing maritime cooperation between the two nations.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, PNS YAMAMA received a warm reception upon its arrival at Jeddah port. Senior officials from the Royal Saudi Naval Forces and representatives from the Pakistan Embassy were present to welcome the ship and its crew.

The visit included various professional engagements for the ship’s crew, such as cross-ship visits and discussions on critical maritime issues. Additionally, meetings were held with Saudi naval leadership to further strengthen bilateral relations.

The visit culminated with PNS YAMAMA conducting a Passage Exercise alongside HMS Makkah. This exercise aimed to bolster naval cooperation and enhance the interoperability of the two forces.

Both navies reiterated their dedication to ensuring maritime security and fostering regional stability during the exercise, reflecting a shared commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
