Pakistan Navy’s earthquake relief operation continues – An additional tranche of 18 tons relief goods arrive at Swat

Islamabad, November 05, 2015 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Navy’s Relief operation in KPK/Swat continues to provide assistance to earthquake affectees in the far flung areas hit by the massive earthquake. Pakistan Navy Earthquake Relief Camp established since 27 Oct 15 at Dehrai, Shangla has been shifted to Swat, today. More than 25 Tons of relief goods have been distributed till 4 November 15by Pakistan Navy Relief Teams in different earthquake affected villages/areas of Districts Shangla and Swat as well as Bajaur Agency.

An additional tranche of 18 Tons of relief goods comprising food items, blankets, tents and warm clothes arrived at Pakistan Navy Earthquake Relief Camp from Karachi. These relief goods were distributed amongst earthquake affectees of villages Kota, Karimabad, Mashin Cham, Mian Gano Cham, Peer Rano Kilay of Tehsil Bari Kot and villages Topseen and Sabounay of Tehsil Babuzai, Distt Swat as well as Union Councils of Basi, Peerabad, Pagori, Dhergai, Mayarser of Tehsil Alpuri, Distt Shangla.

Pakistan Navy Medical Teams have provided medical treatment to thousands of patients / injured personnel. Relief good collection points established at Karachi, Lahore, Coastal bases and Islamabad are working continually for collection of donations / relief goods and their onward dispatch to the earthquake affected areas. A close coordination is being maintained with NDMA for better management of relief efforts and reaching out to the affectees in far flung areas.
