Pakistan Petroleum Announces Production Start at Adhi South-9 Well

Karachi: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has officially commenced production at the Adhi South-9 well, a new development well within the Adhi Mining Lease, as of October 14, 2024. The company, holding a 39% working interest, collaborates with Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL), who hold 50% and 11% interests respectively.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the well was drilled to a depth of 3,430 meters and, following promising logging results, was completed as a producer. It has now been successfully integrated with existing facilities, initiating production at a rate of 530 barrels per day (bpd) of oil and 0.6 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas.

This development is part of PPL’s ongoing strategy to enhance its portfolio and operational capacity in oil and gas production across the region. The Adhi South-9 well’s commencement is a critical step forward in optimizing the production capabilities of the Adhi Mining Lease.
