Pakistan Protests Afghan Official’s Disrespect of National Anthem

Peshawar: The Foreign Office of Pakistan has lodged a formal protest against the Acting Consul General of Afghanistan following an incident in which the Afghan official allegedly disrespected the Pakistani national anthem during an event in Peshawar. The act has been condemned as contrary to diplomatic norms.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch described the incident as reprehensible and contrary to the respect typically accorded between nations. Baloch confirmed that Pakistan is communicating its strong protest to Afghan authorities both in Islamabad and Kabul, emphasizing the seriousness with which it views the disrespect of its national symbols.
