Punjab Police Mourns Loss of Constable in Line of Duty, Vows Justice

Lahore: Constable Arshad Rauf of the Punjab Police was honored posthumously at a funeral attended by Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, following his death in the line of duty. The ceremony, held at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh, included a Guard of Honor, reflecting the department’s deep respect for his sacrifice. The IG met with Rauf’s family to express condolences and offer support.

According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 15 September 2024, Constable Rauf was fatally shot while confronting suspicious motorcyclists during his assignment with the Mohafiz team in Islampura. In the wake of the incident, IG Punjab has pledged to ensure the welfare of Rauf’s family and emphasized that the Punjab Police, as custodians of over 1,600 martyrs, will not forget his supreme sacrifice. Immediate actions have been ordered to apprehend those responsible for the attack.
