Islamabad: On World Ozone Day 2024, Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to the Montreal Protocol and its initiatives to protect the ozone layer as part of broader climate action efforts.

According to Press Information Department, the national event highlighted the importance of the ozone layer in protecting life on Earth, with this year’s theme focusing on the interconnection between ozone layer protection and global warming solutions. Ms. Alam outlined Pakistan’s achievements, including significant reductions in ozone-depleting substances and transitioning industries to ozone-friendly technologies. The discussions also touched on future strategies to meet international targets and enhance public awareness on ozone protection.
