Islamabad: The Foreign Office has firmly dismissed any recommendations or offers concerning dialogue between Pakistan and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), maintaining its stance against negotiations with groups responsible for violence against Pakistani civilians and security forces.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, speaking at her weekly briefing, reiterated that Pakistan has no interest in engaging with the TTP. She underscored that suggestions for dialogue with the TTP are an affront to those who have lost loved ones due to the group’s activities.
Baloch emphasized that Afghan authorities bear the primary responsibility to act against terror organizations, particularly the TTP, which operates from Afghan territory. She noted that Pakistan has provided the Afghan government with concrete evidence on this matter and called for decisive action from Kabul.
Additionally, the spokesperson highlighted Pakistan’s concerns over India’s extraterritorial and extrajudicial activities, urging the global community to press India to cease these practices in Pakistan and elsewhere.
Addressing a separate question, Baloch affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the safety of Chinese nationals, projects, and institutions in the country, acknowledging their vital contributions to Pakistan’s development. She emphasized that this security commitment has been assured to the highest levels of Chinese leadership.
