Dubai: Pakistan’s IT sector, hailed as the “Tech Destination of the Year 2024,” showcased its burgeoning tech capabilities at GITEX Global 2024, drawing significant international attention and potential partnerships. The event was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where Pakistan’s innovative products and solutions stood out among global exhibitors.

According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy in UAE, chaired a review meeting to discuss the performance of Pakistani exhibitors. The meeting, attended by prominent figures such as Mr. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counsellor Dubai, and CEOs and senior executives from leading Pakistani IT firms, highlighted the positive feedback received from international delegates.

Ambassador Tirmizi praised the enthusiastic response from potential collaborators interested in Pakistan’s IT offerings and emphasized the embassy’s commitment to supporting homegrown companies. He noted the importance of forming consortia among high-end IT firms to deliver world-class services globally and underscored the strategic initiatives to strengthen Pakistan’s economic ties through technology exports.

The discussions also focused on organizing IT-specific events to promote sectors such as digital transformation, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, aiming to further enhance Pakistan’s profile as a key player in the global technology market.
