Russian and Iranian Ministers Arrive in Islamabad for SCO Summit

Islamabad: Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Iranian Minister for Industry and Trade, Syed Mohammad Atabek, have arrived in Islamabad to participate in the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Their arrival marks significant international participation in the summit, highlighting its importance in regional cooperation and diplomacy.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif welcomed the Russian Prime Minister at the airport last night. Meanwhile, Ahmed Naseem Warriach, Additional Secretary for Afghanistan and West Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received the Iranian Minister at Nur Khan air base, underscoring the warm diplomatic relations between the nations and Pakistan.

The presence of these high-level officials from Russia and Iran emphasizes the SCO’s role as a pivotal platform for discussing and advancing economic, political, and security cooperation among member states.
