Karachi, The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE) has seen varied performances over the past six months, with significant fluctuations in market capitalization, trading volumes, and indices as of May 8, 2024. The KSE-100 Index and KSE All Share Index have demonstrated diverse trends, reflecting the dynamic nature of the market.

In November, the market showcased a listed capital of 1,656,800.393 million Rs., with a market capitalization at 14,056.434 million Rs. Trading volumes in the Ready Market totaled 3,686.656 million shares, while Future Contracts accounted for 60,531.270 million. The KSE-100 Index and KSE All Share Index stood at 40,324.280 and 42,840.890 respectively.

December witnessed an increase in listed capital to 1,665,476.972 million Rs., and market capitalization surged to 21,165.662 million Rs. Trading volumes also rose, with 5,347.305 million shares traded in the Ready Market and Future Contracts increasing to 62,451.040 million. Indices saw growth with the KSE-100 reaching 41,916.270 and the KSE All Share at 44,562.880.

January observed a slight increase in listed capital to 1,669,726.507 million Rs., though market capitalization dropped to 11,737.426 million Rs. Ready Market turnover was 4,167.581 million shares, and Future Contracts were 61,979.180 million. The indices recorded a decline, with the KSE-100 at 41,892.680 and the KSE All Share at 46,554.240.

February’s figures showed listed capital at 1,671,335.883 million Rs. and a lower market capitalization of 7,190.089 million Rs. Turnover in the Ready Market decreased to 2,884.350 million shares, with Future Contracts at 64,578.520 million. The KSE-100 Index improved to 42,840.890, and the KSE All Share Index also saw a rise.

In March, the listed capital slightly increased to 1,673,001.673 million Rs., with market capitalization recovering to 7,673.191 million Rs. Trading volumes rose modestly in the Ready Market to 3,080.374 million shares and Future Contracts to 67,005.110 million. The indices reported an increase with the KSE-100 at 44,562.880 and the KSE All Share maintaining a steady climb.

April closed with the listed capital reaching 1,675,353.476 million Rs., and market capitalization at 9,177.241 million Rs. The Ready Market saw 3,096.993 million shares traded, with Future Contracts peaking at 71,102.550 million. The indices showed significant improvement, with the KSE-100 Index at 46,554.240, marking the highest point in the six-month period.
