Pakistan Stock Exchange Reports Steady Growth in Market Capitalization and Indices in First Half of 2024

Karachi, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE) witnessed consistent growth in market capitalization and share indices over the last six months, according to data released today. From October 2023 to March 2024, the market capitalization increased notably from 7,551,772.884 million Rs. to 9,447,694.312 million Rs., reflecting investor confidence and active trading within the market.

In October, the exchange had a listed capital of 1,653,218.018 million Rs. with a market capitalization of 7,551,772.884 million Rs. The turnover of shares reached 8,404.818 million, while the KSE 100 Index stood at 51,920.270 and the KSE All Share Index at 34,558.220.

November saw a further rise in listed capital to 1,656,800.393 million Rs. and market capitalization to 8,729,523.266 million Rs. Share turnover surged to 14,056.434 million, and indices climbed, with the KSE 100 Index at 60,531.270 and the KSE All Share Index at 40,324.280.

By December, listed capital increased slightly to 1,665,476.972 million Rs., and market capitalization reached 9,062,902.809 million Rs. A turnover of 21,165.662 million shares was recorded, and indices rose to 62,451.040 for KSE 100 and 41,916.270 for KSE All Share.

January’s figures were consistent, with listed capital at 1,669,726.507 million Rs. and market capitalization slightly up at 9,073,759.924 million Rs. Turnover of shares was at 11,737.426 million, with indices relatively stable at 61,979.180 for KSE 100 and 41,892.680 for KSE All Share.

February’s data showed a listed capital of 1,671,335.883 million Rs., and a market capitalization of 9,225,160.480 million Rs. Share turnover decreased to 7,190.089 million, and indices increased to 64,578.520 for KSE 100 and 42,840.890 for KSE All Share.

March ended with a listed capital of 1,673,001.673 million Rs., market capitalization at its highest at 9,447,694.312 million Rs., and share turnover of 7,673.191 million. Indices reached new highs with KSE 100 at 67,005.110 and KSE All Share at 44,562.880.
